Are they both going into the front of your amp?

Yes, but they both work in the loop as well. The Strymon will accept a +8db input. The Badgerplex works as well, runs off of either a 12V or 18V adapter, runs internally at 22V, has plenty of headroom.

That's cool.
I was just wondering if you were hitting the front end with the Badger and using the Strymon in the loop.

That's 3 positive gear reviews from you in one day.
Isn't that one of the signs of the Apocalypse?

Very cool. How much are they? Where did you get them...?

The Badgerplex comes from Robert at Badger Effects. http://www.badgereffects.com About $140.00 which is reasonable considering that he uses NOS FET's, same ones as in the original Echoplex's. It DOES make a difference.

Much more reasonable than the newest of the newest ibanez hw $400 boost.

The good news here is that donbarzini can stop with these boring gear reviews and get back to posting his infamous video links and making fun of sah5150's new guitars!

What amp have you settled on?

I've had the same metro built plexi by the guy that has built them like no other I have had, NOS mustards, etc. He just built me another one and that's what I have coming next week.

50w or 100w?

I caught a demo of the El Capistan at Tone Merchans. The pedal is the shit. The thing also has spring reverb, but what was really cool, it has a dry mix. This is my next purchase. They are only $299.00.

both are 100W, I've had plenty of 50W, 100W are not that much louder, they just "feel" better to me with the added headroom.

Cool thanks. I have a 50w bogen vplexi here that rips.... maybe it's time for a 100w ;) :D

I'd love to try that pedal, the demo's sound ridiculous. Strymon is involved with Damage Control, who has new pedals coming out soon. I'm waiting for a Glass Nexus 2.

I love my Glass Nexus, not very deep editing capabilities but a great sounding unit. Can't wait for Glass Nexus 2!

Would love to hear some kind of clip, this looks very interesting ;)
DBZ, whats your take on Metro's current situation?

how clean does an amp have to be set for these types of pedals to sound good in front?

yep amazing pedal!!!!

we a/b it with a real echo plex and were floored by how close it got to the real thing  now i just need to get some in. Hopefully this week

Cool, Strymon at Tone Merchants. Hopefully the new Damage Control pedals will see more exposure as well.

It really depends. I like using a delay in the loop and out front. Not at the same time of course, but you get different results and some things work better out front, and some are better in the loop.

For those of us that like high gain on an amp and can't stand the 'smear' of a delay up front, can you run the preamp in the front of the amp and the delay in a loop? Will the delay go line level too or is it just pedal?

Pete
