the Edwards LP. For a LP type player; is there any better for the $$?

thanks and Merry Christmas!

Edwards E-LP is a lot of bang for the buck. You might be able to find a Crews Maniac or a higher end Bacchus for the same or a little more but that doesnt happen often

I've never played an Edwards but they have a ton of positive support. I was headed in that direction earlier this year but found a used Bacchus LP Custom on Reverb and its an incredible guitar. If you can find a MIJ Bacchus for the right price you won't be disappointed.

I have a hand crafted Bacchus that I picked up for $800........hangs with any Gibson Standard that I have owned or played.

The Epiphone Elitist line they came out with about 10 years ago. Really amazing sounding and playing LP's. US Gibson parts. But I think they have went way up in price.

I had an 84 Greco Sykes, and later found a late 90s Edwards Sykes. The Greco was great, 60s slim neck and was very toneful. The Edwards had more of a 59 profile, was nice but didn't quite have the tone of the Greco. The one thing to be careful of is where the Edwards was made, not for quality but for resale. Some were assembled in China for a time, I think around 2013 maybe? But I don't think it affected quality.
You can find them for 5-700 shipped from Japan if you are patient. They showed up in a week...crazy fast.

Edwards are great. I owned one for a while and it was a lot nicer than the LTD EC-1000 I had. If you're looking for a Les Paul type guitar, not a shreddy single cut like an Eclipse, the Edwards are great for the price. I paid $500 for mine from my local Guitar Center, sold it for $675 on Reverb. I know there's guys looking for $800+ for them, but I would stay in that $500-700 range at most.

What's the major drop off from custom to limited. Ebony v rosewood,I know. Pups?

Thanks for the info guys.

I believe all pickups in Edwards are the Duncans SH1 & SH4 or SH6. All my Edwards came with Duncans. I replaced many with Black Winters

Yup. Mine came with Distortions in both spots. Sounded better with a PAF type.

I forgot about that. My Edwards Sykes came with the Distortions

I know a lot of people have had great luck with the Edwards stuff. Mine unfortunately showed up with a twisted neck and pretty bad fretwork. The finish was also super thick, so it wasn't the most resonant guitar in the world.

I'd personally way rather just grab a used 90's LP Studio for the same or less $$.

I have an Edwards LP and it's awesome! I'm very much a guitar snob and this thing sounds, plays and looks awesome! Stay's in tune really well too. Mine is an E-LP-108-s and I would say quality wise it's on par with the Gibson LP classic's and most standards I have played (the 18' and up models seem to be nicer). Workmanship is what you would expect from ESP and these are made in their Japanese factory. There was a rumor going around they were made in Korea but it was later debunked as they were only there for a few months in 09 in a transition period.

In short I can't think of anything that comes close for the cash.

Just the ebony board as far as I know, from the factory they all seem to have Duncans.
