Looks like all they changed was the pickups (now Edwards Legacy and not JB/59’s) and raised the prices up a bit. I don’t know what these sold for last year as I didn’t find out about them until after they paused production. Still, $1300 is a pretty bangin’ price for that level of quality! (And I rarely keep stock pickups) I’m just happy I don’t have to source used LP Custom’s for stupid prices now!
Not sure what models they offered previously, but there’s 3 Standard LP’s, 3 Customs, a version of each with P90’s, 3 V’s, 3 335’s and 2 Jr’s.
I have a fried here in LA that bought one of those fairly cheap years back and had it professionally repainted with a traditional Gibson Silverburst. It looked and played amazing.i wanted one of these forever, should have grabbed one years ago

I’ve got an edwards LPC and a real deal wine red LPC and I’m here to tell you the real wine red makes the edwards feel and sound like a gutless wonder lol. The real deal has a sonic complexity that isn’t bright or brittle like the edwards.I'd love it if they had a custom LP in wine red
No doubt, I get it but these days it is a big investment. 1.4k for a a nice LPC in wine red-- I could make it work with a couple hundred in upgrades if needed.I’ve got an edwards LPC and a real deal wine red LPC and I’m here to tell you the real wine red makes the edwards feel and sound like a gutless wonder lol. Don’t get me wrong I love my edwards. The real deal just has more mojo and feels more solid and better made…ignoring the 40+ years of wear on the binding.
It’s a big enough difference but also a big enough investment difference, too. I get it. But I don’t for a second want anyone to think that an edwards with tuners, bridges, and pickups comes close to a refretted real deal Norlin Les Paul Custom. If it did, I wouldn’t own and have restored so many as it’s an extremely expensive investment. Will the upgrades make an edwards better? Yes. Do they play great? Yes. Do they serve a purpose? Yes. Do they compare equally to, or can they replace a real vintage LPC? No.No doubt, I get it but these days it is a big investment. 1.4k for a a nice LPC in wine red-- I could make it work with a couple hundred in upgrades if needed.

Classic all day. My experience with Edwrads LPs is similar to glgp80's. In fact my Epiphone Elitest LP was a superior LP vs the Edwards.OK... so current Gibson Les Paul Classic or Edwards E-LP-STD (LOL, STD)?
I think the Gibson would have a thinner neck, right?
Yeah, I believe those were Fujigen? Those Elitists are indeed nice. Those were hand-built in Japan from start to finish, vs. Edwards starting life in China. To be fair an Epi Elitist is a high end MIJ axe for what it's worth
Man, that white V and LP Gold Top are calling my name !!!
Pics and review!I just picked up a used black V for 1K. It's on it's way here now from the west coast.
