Egnater Rebel 30

Good afternoon all,

I'm looking for some trouble shooting help. I have an Egnater Rebel 30. I can turn it on and leave it in stand by. But as soon as I switch onto play there is a very loud consistent noise coming from the speaker. As well as a while light that looks like it is surging behind the v1,v2,v3, and v4 tubes with a bad burning smell. I'm a novice when it comes to this this stuff so bare with me. I've been sitting on this amp for way to long and miss playing it dearly so any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance for the help,
OT

Sounds like a bad 12AX7 tube. You may want to get a new one and check it in all 4 slots one by one, subbing out as you go, and see if that changes anything to isolate the bad tube.

You're best not even turning it on....
The warning signs of a bad tube are typically NOT a burning smell.....
Plastic & rubber burns...
GREAT amp, & I'm on my 2nd one!!
Good luck & get it to a good tech~
