Hey guys 1st time poster here,

Just wondering if anyone has tried the tweaker 40 yet and like to share their thoughts? im looking in to getting one as soon as i sell my current amp! I live in Ireland so don't get the luxery of trying anything before i buy it (if its anything other than the common stuff). Plus the 40 hasn't even arrived in the UK yet and i havent seen much activity in the forums so just asking around! Would love to hear your views!

btw Bruce or Ian if you're out there, Guitar Guitar said they'll have them in september, any ideas on a specific date?

thanks for reading! :)

The original Tweaker brought me to this forum. It was the first amp in 15 years I bought new. I plugged it in and it was just what I was looking for. I since sold it to move to a Mod50 but yesterday I went down to guitar center to play the Tweaker 40 and it is a rocking amp! The American Cleans are great and the Brit Overdrive is awsome! My only recomendation to you is the pull the tubes and upgrade I was blown away at what that change did for the Tweaker 15. Good Luck you won't be sorry.

Thanks for your insight bubs, im a bit of a noob when it comes to tubes and whatnot but im sure ill be satisfied with the tone the tweaker 40 will pump out. Really excited to get my hands on it!

You don't have to be a tube expert. Just get you some better 12ax7's to get you started. Then ask around on the board and someone will point you in the rite direction for power tubes. Don't worry about NOS stuff there good new tubes out there. Good Luck!

If he doesn't know what he is looking for then maybe we shouldn't get him chasing "Old Glass".

I thought the stock tubes sounded ok in the tweaker- I was actually surprised.

Unfortunately I don't know the date off hand for when Guitar Guitar will have them in stock. They honestly will know better than I do. I know they had their order in for the first batch of them though, so I'm sure it won't be too much longer.

No probs Ian, i think they said september with no date just to cover themselves, i cant imagine it'll be much longer, but thanks.

As for the tubes, im sure the stock tubes will do very nicely, ive read alot about the testing Egnater do and if its good enough for them, then it will be for me too. I really dont enjoy trying and swapping out different tubes or speakers anyway, even more so with a brand new piece of equipment because i dont get new stuff very often. Same goes with swapping out pups/ pots with a guitar! :)

lol i get annoyed breaking a string, never mind thinking about replacing parts for lols

The Guitar centers by me (NJ) have had the tweaker 40 head and combo, and 88 head for atleast a week now.
