EHX B9 + Lester K pedals = Hammond Organ?

I wanted to see how close I could get to a Hammond organ and Leslie speaker sound in a real song rather than a demo clip.

Everything you're hearing on this song that sounds like an organ was played on guitar through an EHX B9 Organ Machine and Lester K. No keyboards were used in this recording.

This is not a pedal demonstration in the traditional sense. Instead, it’s a complete musical piece that showcases what these 2 pedals can do when used creatively in a real-world recording. I thought that approach might be valuable because it allows musicians to hear the pedals in a musical context rather than as isolated effects.

Curious what you think.

@rsm might like this.

It sounds really good IMO. Pretty cool track. Most of the members here are metal heads so this probably falls outside of their interests. Thanks for sharing it.

Thanks for the kind words.
I realized this was a metal oriented board - I'd been posting some blues/jazz/flamenco clips in the members video section here and some dude went completely off the rails about how much one of my clips "sucked", but I could tell it was really because it wasn't metal.

I can get organ sounds from my guitar with my Boss SY-300 and SY-1000...

but I use my Crumar Mojo Suitcase and pedals for Hammond...or my A-3.

Crumar Mojo Suitcase (Hammond), and 25-note Hammond pedals:

I like having dedicated instruments for organ, pianos, and synths - like old school Rick Wakeman / Keith Emererson rigs, which my Crumar is part of.

I also have new school workstation keyboard rigs like Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater. The controls and keyboard action / layout matching the instrument matters to me. Much more convenient, but not as fun as the old school rig.

This combo is the absolute cheat code for fake organ sounds. The B9 provides awesome base drawbar tracking, but running it into the Lester K gives it that deep, non-linear physical movement.

Are you running the Lester K in stereo out to two separate amps? Splitting those rotating horn frequencies across a room completely masks the fact that the signal is coming from a guitar fretboard. It goes from sounding like a cool effect to sounding like a real piece of furniture in the room

No, I was a bit lazy and just tracked it in mono. I got the stereo spread from the track by panning guitars and drums/percussion. I'll have to try what you said next time I use this on a tune.
