So I see the external bias points. I plug in my trusty multimeter and get 70mA. I'm running EL34s so I am thinking I should probably back it down to low-mid 60's. Only problem is... how do you change the setting? There's what looks like a rubber plug in front of the bias points which I would have thought would be a great place for a bias pot... but there doesn't appear to be anything else to adjust.

I've attached some pics. It's hard to tell, but it looks like it's just a rubber grommet that has no real function.

The screwdriver into that black rubber thing, Matt. 60-65mA should be perfect. There`s a pot under it.

Thanks Olaf. I did try a screwdriver in there, but maybe I didn't get it in there far enough. I'll give it another shot when I get home tonight and let you know how it goes.

Thanks again my friend!

Matt

hi ,
i notice in the einstein manual it says that the bias settings for EL34's should be "30-35mA" .
that seems very low in comparison with the settings ive seen recommended here ??
which is correct ?

30 - 35 mA is for an individual tube. Thus, i.e. 2x 35 mA = 70 mA for a pair of tubes.

So I dont have to remove the fuses??The writing on the back says something about that.. I have two red pots balance to 65 each if im using el34s in a 100 watt
