Damn thats the most Fender looking Suhr Ive seen. Not over the top at all. I always knew you had good taste. :D

The body is very slightly smaller than a strat body but that's OK...I'm a little dude. :D

I would also like to have the volume knob in the regular strat position so I might ask them to cut a new pickguard.

But with the black bucker it'll basically look like this:

Suhrs are pretty awesome. And like I said the Ej neck is to big for my hands too so I feel your pain. :D

I have small hands, and the EJ feels great to me. You guys are just poodle-skirt wearin' surrender monkeys. :) I played one of my RG570s at rehearsal last night and my left hand still hurts!

None of my skirts have poodles on them...so your theory is flawed. :gethim:

I played an EJ last night and just earlier i played a Suhr Pro Series 2. There's a Suhr dealer now 10 minutes from my house

It was the first time i played the Suhr S2. I really liiked it. It's a little plain Jane but the neck felt really really good. I didn't plug it in but i imagine the singles do the strat thing nice. Fit and finish was typically great. I just didn't like the green finish.

The EJ was pretty cool but the neck was pretty big. I plugged it into a Marshall combo and got decent tones. But i have to admit that i played a Johnny Hiland PRS and i did like that a lot more for my playing style.

Both guitars are the same price new but i would give the nod to the Suhr. I can live without the vintage Strat vibe as i love the neck heel, locking tuners, pleck job, and the humbucker.

So Ratter, which one are you keeping?

The EJ. The Suhr is undoubtedly a better built guitar. But the EJ has the vibe and feel that I want. I was having some issues with hand pain with the EJ neck which I thought would seal the deal, but for whatever reason, that went away.

The Suhr reminds me of the Silhouettes. Better built and better features than your average Fender strat, but then you lose some of the strat feel.

The Suhr pickups do sound great plugged in. Mine has the V60LP and SSV in the bridge. I think they just switched to putting the Fletcher-Landau singles in, which I'm sure are great as well. The EJ pickups have great tone to them, but the two guitars sound quite different plugged. The Suhr has 500k pots and a treble bleed on the volume, which makes a huge difference.

Ironically, the EJ trem stays in tune just as well or even better than the Gotoh on the Suhr, with it's locking tuners.

Now that I know I'm keeping it, I'm strongly tempted to strip that yellow lacquer off the EJ neck and leave it raw or maybe oiled. I think that would be killer...
