Wanna a new delay/ echo pedal. One that works well with gain as I don't play much clean. Which one would you suggest?

Love my El Cap. Nothing bad about it. Has a very good spring reverb model built in if you want to use it.

I have the X4 and really like it, but haven't tried the others so I can't compare it. The one thing I don't like is that the housing is plastic not metal..

I own an El Capistan(love it), Belle Epoch, DD3, Rockman Stereo Echo, Echoplex EP-3.....but my hands down favorite right now is the Digitech Hardwire DL-8. Just a flat out killer delay!

The boss is awful sounding. Either of the FB or El Cap will do well.

Have you ever run the Belle Epoch in front? I've heard that is pretty cool.

No kidding? My DL8 is shipping today (supposedly). I also have a Caralinbread Montavillian incoming and currently use a Pigtronix Echolution 2 Deluxe. I know the DL8 won't compare feature wise to the Echolution but I'm interested to compare actual sounds.

Hey Jer, it's tna from GAB. Having owned both I've got to say as far as bang for the buck and instant rewards the DL8 is hard to beat. It really sounds incredible, and is easy as pie to use right out of the box.

That being said the Echo2D is capable of doing everything it does, but much better as long as you're willing to get in and do some editing. How much better/over how much tinkering, well that's subjective. The latest E2D update lets you fine tune the high freq. cut off for the filter section to tweak the treble response/clarity/drive which is totally awesome for tweaking tape echo emulations, or tweak the autowah high frequencies etc... If I'm not mistaken the settings are remembered for each preset too, so you can have a really dark delay on one patch and a really bright delay on the other patch, even though both presets are otherwise totally the same.

Fucking pedal is sick bro. Don't get rid of it, grow with it, and then get one good analog or analog flavored digital delay to shove up front for wen you want that vibe. Once you've got your foot board set up for it it will be awesome. Email Jim at Rocktron, and he'll get you set up. I'm waiting on a second email from him on integrating the Echo2D and Midi-Mate with my Loop 8 and RJM Amp Gizmo, and I'll send you any sections applicable to setting up the E2D/Midi-Mate combo.
