el84\7189 question for Budda guys or anyone for that matter

I got my Superdrive 30 series II last week (loving it) and it came loaded with the Tube Store's select series 7189's in it which from my understanding are Reflektor 6n14n-ev's from the 80's. My question is how do these differ tonally from the standard Sovtek el84's that are recommended by Budda for the amp? It sounds killer right now but I have yet to hear it with the recommended power tubes so i'm curious. I know they are cheap but with X-mas coming up and being a family guy I don't want to drop money on something i'm going to dislike.

not sure how they differ tonally.. but a 7189 will take about 400 plate volts.. an el84 will take about 360. older vintage style amps had transformers that put out about 400 plate volts for use with the 7189's.

Thank you, I know technically they are designed to take more plate voltage and are supposed to last longer. I mainly am curious as to the sonic differences between these and Budda's recommended plain old Sovtek el84's. I know it should be a moot point since I like how it sounds now but I have to know if I have the best possible sound out of it. I might just have to bite the bullet and order a set since they are fairly cheap anyway.
 
maybe randy van sykes will chime in since he has a superdrive and seems pretty happy with it.
