It's a cool unit. Works perfectly for recording. A lot of good sounds in the box, although most of the Artist presets are meh. I bought mine before the Steve Stevens presets were in it, but a friend shared it. It's one of the better ones for sure.
Another nice thing about the 11R is being able to use the speaker mic sims on a different preamp for recording direct. They sound good in the mix.
Call me crazy, but I have two of them; one in my live rig and another in my recording desk. Personally, I think they can sound pretty damn good. Like Muudrock said, most of the artist presets are just so-so. They don't necessarily sound bad, but there are very few places where I would make use of them. Some are so extremely effected that I have no idea what I would do with it while others have provided a good starting point to tweak some usable tones.
I've seen a couple on here for little more than $600 in nearly new condition. Hard to pass up...
Dude..... you have 4 Camerons, a VH4 and a IIC+ Boogie.............
Really??
Thats what the 11 rack wants so badly to be........ but isint
Spend that money on a good mic-pre

I understand that sweetwater needs to make their money but its kind of lame that they don't let people post the artist presets on the eleven rack forum due to copyright issues...

I'm in the process of building a stereo rack rig with the Eleven Rack feeding a Mesa 2:90 and a pair of 2x12 cabinets. I have a quality laptop with Pro Tools installed that I can easily connect to the rig for mobile recording, reference to tablature, backing tracks, etc. I have a workstation-class PC in my recording desk that the other Eleven Rack is connected to.
Here's a link to the build thread if you're interested. I'm always open to comments and suggestions, so feel free to post in that thread and let me know what you think.
