Someone tell me about it. Im looking for something pretty modern and thick. I havent tried one yet and judging by the sound clips I think I would really like it.

it has a fairly unique and controllable Volume structure including controlling the volumes between Low Gain and Hi Gain.

Backside Fat and Edge controls. Edge really adds the bite

it can be a fairly dark amp

the Mid control has a lot of range

Can be very Middy

I wish the Treble had a bit more range.

Played both modenas, 60 and 90........ the 60 has more grit being an el34 head, a friend dropped it off and played with it this weekend, also played the 90 in the store tighter , more headroom than the 60, both have very nice cleans, both do metal very well, dark amps not marshally at all.Can scoop em to get real compressed, I was debating the m90, the engl se, and then I played a Diezel vh4, so that ended the quest. The m90 reminds me of the diezel herbert, a good attempt but when we a/b them it swallowed it.That is just an opinon. But Elmwood make nice amps. I hear to get to the bias its a lil difficult compared to others and the blk face plate cracks if not careful. just what i read .

I personally prefer the 60 to the 90, but you really need to play them. Elmwood has it's own voice, and you'll either dig it, ot you won't. The eq has a very wide range, and channel 1 boosted is pretty great. I don't find any similarity between the Elmwood and the Herbert, and I've had them both at the same time, YMMV. I wouldn't mind grabbing another 60  Cool amp :D

I wish the M90 had more low end punch, bigger lows.
There was something about the mids that I could never get used to also.

Interesting, I like an amp with a ton of low end...I wish I could play one, unfortunately there is nothing around here...Ive been having some Bad Cat gassss I miss my hot cat head soooooooooooooooo much

Hey Dave
I had the M90 for a while, Fantastic Amp! Wish I still had it.
If you're looking for Thick & Modern it can do that, but it
seemed more voiced towards a Pissed off Marshall than a Diezel.
It had that Nasty Bite & Dirty Grind that reminded me of a Darker
voiced amp like a Bogner. Wattage wise the Herbert ate it up,
but seriously, who needs to get that loud?
The M90 had a more scooped midrange compared to the CAA OD100SE+
& SLO, but definitely had its own thing goin' on.
Again, Great Amp  for Modern tones but does that Darker,
Pissed Marshall thing better....to my ears.

Hey Rick! That's kinda sounding like exactly what I'm
looking for...can it get pretty nasty ala herby? I play heavy death metal but I really like having a unique metal tone and we only tune to D so we don't have the advantage of the lower tuning to make it sound heavy. All the clips on YouTube are kinda lower gain lead stuff...
