EMG 57 (new model) vs 81 vs JH

EMG were king enough to send me some of their new models, so I could record this little comparison for you:

All sound similar in the clip but I'll bet they all felt quite different as you played through each one. Looking forward to checking out my friends JH set and I'm also quite intrigued by the 57/66 PAF-ish ones.

Well, the problem with the pup comparison videos is, that the differences can mainly be felt when playing it yourself, so in these videos they appear to be more subtle than they actually are....but you'll get the general idea about the differences I think

I think I like the Hetfield and 81 better than the new ones. Then again, I don't think a lot of active pickups jive very well with KT88s, at least not in my Ubers.

I've actually just ordered EH6ca7, I'm really curious to try those in the Rev2....will post results in a few days

They all sound PRETTY similar to me!

Thanks! I needed my headphones to hear any difference, though. The 81 and JH sounded a bit brighter and more cutting than the 57. Or a mouse could have run into your mic stand and moved it a millimetre left or right.
