Why? That makes no sense. I would argue the opposite. How many people have the range of a guitar or piano. Any nuance you can do with your voice you could do with an instrument - especially guitar.

True, I was more referring to the fact that vocals also bring words into play, along with pitch and phrasing. I'm not a fan of rap either, but I certainly do appreciate well crafted delivery of it.

Eminem is good at what he does...but I'd just as soon listen to ICP as I would Eminem. That is to say..that I won't listen to either :D

I hear ya. And I have 2 English degrees, you'd think I'd have more respect for wordsmiths.

Point taken - if for nothing more than your avatar.

No, seriously, Dre is a genius - period. But Marshall knows how to deliver it with technique for sure. Guy's got talent - some of his rhymes are just sick, and the tongue-twisting-timing is pretty hard to pass off as just wankery.

Absolutely idiotic. If you're hanging with your buds, speak anyway you wish. But proper English is still proper English. Exactly why our country is falling behind.

Now, the world don't move to the beat of just one drum,
What might be right for you, may not be right for some.
A man is born, he's a man of means.
Then along come two, they got nothing but their jeans.

But they got, Diff'rent Strokes.
It takes, Diff'rent Strokes.
It takes, Diff'rent Strokes to move the world.

Everybody's got a special kind of story
Everybody finds a way to shine,
It don't matter that you got not alot
So what,
They'll have theirs, and you'll have yours, and I'll have mine.
And together we'll be fine....

Because it takes, Diff'rent Strokes to move the world.
Yes it does.
It takes, Diff'rent Strokes to move the world.

I don't view Eminem as a genius....although, I think he is extremely good at what he does. I've never been a huge fan of rap, but I do make an exception with Eminem. Unlike most out there, I thought his last album was pure shit for the most part. I prefer Relapse to it.

I'm <50yo, therefore, I think Page is fairly unspecial

However, Eminem has better stuff than this.

Since, we're listening to Rihanna, where is the Nuno?

I'm way sub 50 and I think Page is incredible. But then I also think Zappa was genius, as well as DiMeola, McLaughlin, Django, and many others... I'm an old soul in the world of newer music.

But as for rap?? I think 2Pac took the cake. That was serious core rap, and yes, I still listen to his shit everyday at the gym.

Just sayin'...
V.

He is a genious but that is the worst example you could possibly have given...
