I'm very curious about these amps.

I'm also looking at the Retro, sounds awesome IMO in this demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_nq8eqj-vc

I found a good deal on a Retro 50, and now I'm wondering if the 50 sounds a lot different to the Retro 100? I'd hope the 50 is not much saggier. (I'd only use it for recording/at home)

I'm looking for a nice grindy rhythm sound, so I'm not sure if the Retro would be too oldschool, but in the demo it's plenty modern.

@napalmdeath Did you have the Retro 100 or 50? Which would you prefer for metal rhythm?

I had the 50. It's very close to the Artist, in terms of tone. It's a tight amp as well. VERY similar in tone, also Marshall flavored.

It's a killer amp. You'll dig it. It'll hang with amps much pricier.

Those are great prices and would sell like crazy if offered here in the states. I had a Retro100 head but really want one of the 50w combos..Enjoy!!

Thanks, really looking forward to it. Already had an Engl (Savage Special Edition), but it was years ago.
I don't know if they're discontinuing the 50, the price was lowered like 30%.

If you end up liking it get the big foot controller, gives you access to all the boosts and channel switching..makes it easily a 4channel amp..

Guys. Got the amp. It's killer. Got the Retro 50, shouldn't have worried about it not being tight as it's 50W, it's plenty tight! Thanks for the idea to get the Retro, very happy with it, I'll have to record something to check how it sounds in the mix.
