ENGL e580 Midi Tube Preamp

First off let me start by saying the ENGL e580 Midi Tube Preamp is a GREAT sounding preamp. All of the channels in the 40 presets are usable and was the springboard for me to create my own patches. I have found that this preamp, as well as the ENGL 570, are great sounding especially in the high gain arena.

I have contacted ENGL support about my issue. The issue is the delay when changing patches on the e580. If I am playing live when I switch patches there is an audiable gap in sound which drives me nuts! I have the latest software updates so nothing I can do about that.

I am hoping someone somewhere as fixed this issue. Does anyone know of how I can correct this?

I would appreciate any info you have.

I used the VHT GP3 for years and there was no audiable gap in sound when changing patches. I am assuming the reason being is that the GP3 is really a 3 channel tube preamp and not a completly flexable preamp like the e580.

Hope someone can give me some insight!
