Engl ironball

Going to buy a used engl ironball. Looking to pair it with an orange ppc212 that is 16ohms. The Engl has an atenuator ( powersoak funktion) where you can switch from full power to 5 watts to 1 watt. I have read that the powersoak funktion can only be used at 8ohms. My question is will i be able to use the powersoak funktion when hooked up to a 16 ohms cab. If so do I go from 8ohms on the back of the amp to 16 ohms on the cab?

8ohms is safe for 16 ohm cab
Just wouldn't want to do the opposite. amp ohms need to be lower than impedance of cab, or combined impedances of multiple cabs. 2 16 ohm cabs would be 8 ohms
