Well I got to play them all, the m60,m90 and engl se. The m90 over the 60 but not saying one is better than the other, the m90 just has more headroom, its tighter than m60,, The modena tone is ....unbelievable. The first couple chords my friend and I were both blow away, We played em for about 2 hrs, back n forth thru a elmwood v30 cab.Its nice to stand back n listen when someone else plays as well to get a better perspective.I played the engl se in chuck levins thru an engl v30 cab ,lots of options, It was awesome, but its like I forget what uts like,Unlike the elmo stuck in my head. anyone know of a engl dealer with an se near scranton,pa? Id like to try se again, to see, did i miss something or the bells n whistles are making me caught up? But the M90 just FKN RIPPED, just a pure, cutting tone? Can the engl do it? am i missing something? any thoughts?

I agree.. I think you made up your mind.

Apparently, the Se didn't leave an impact. The M90 did. and a great choice, I think. :)

you guys are funny....... IMPACT! thats a big word but describes it well. Even when I go back to the clips, the clips sound like the amp that I played, the engl clips vary, but non, yet have struck me like the modena, I bet it would sound good paired up with herbert?

The m-90 is a really cool amp it covers all the ground without all those extra goodies. And the tone is unbelievable from such a simple amp to use. I know that it is a 4 to 5 hour trip but if you whant to you are more than welcome to come and play the herbert and elmwood together if interested (pm) me.

M90 will give you what you want.
The SE is a bit stale to be honest. It does high gain, but does not have the natural sustain and girth you are looking for.

Man I agree 100%, don't take nothing away from the engl it is a great amp,but I would go for the elmo..

I C U have herbert and Elmo......so how do you like it? I am ordering new cabs, I am not cutting it with the bassons I am going to order Mills Afterburners. The elmwoods were really impressive,my friend and I drove to NJ to check em out, both are excellent. But I prefer the 90, for the headroom and its tighter than the 60,again, both were stellar!

When you play an amp thats got "bells and whistles", you have to generally put a little more time into it, than a straight forward amp,,BUT, I will say from playing both amps, you will be rewarded to your hearts content IF you take your time with both of them...I like em both, BUT, for different applications...I f I was going for the most aggressive of metal( look at the users) bar-none; the se offers a bit more for that person,..now...if I was going to do a rock, metal, or light rock, even heavy blues,I may go for a m90...again, ( look at the users).and you cant always go by the users list too..save up your pennies and buy em both!

Guitars n Stuff is a store in Ebensburg , PA that deals with engl..call Terry..cant recall his #, but its an 814#....and josh @ rebel amps carries both amps.
