Buddy has one and the pictures of it are beautiful 
… not the type of guitar I would go for but damn as soon as I saw it I was in love….. it’s been modded with a floyd and three pups but damn it looks good.

I have one of the very first from 1978. Serial #00002 on the fingerboard. The custom model. All maple body with nitrocellulose, block inlays, US hardware, and fret nibs. Likely a Japanese/US pre-production/prototype as they were eventually produced in Taiwan with poly and mahogany during that era. It's very heavy and thicker than a Les Paul.
