Doctor Love
Epiphone did a magnificent job with this one! What a beautiful 50's inspired Les Paul!! Real CTS pots, Gibson Burstbucker Pro pickups and finally no clownburst!! Satin finish, a fat neck (but not too fat) and the satin neck finish is such a welcome change! And it comes with full on, pink liner, brown hardshell case. All at $899!

Special thanks to Earle Teat Music in Delmar, Delaware for letting me foster this beautiful guitar!
Have a Mediocre Weekend!

Mine is alright. It's very pretty-looking.

But there are several things Epiphone should improve on these.

First and most offensive, the fretwork is bad on these. And all recent Epis I've tried, TBH. Fret leveling required right of the shelf. I noticed the action was mile high in your vid.

Second is the bridge they use. It's horrible. It rattles like crazy.

But honestly, my Gibson Les Paul Tribute sounds way better.

Also, those are not Burstbucker Pros. Those are Bustbucker 3/2. The Pros have A5 magnets. Those have A2. I hated those in mine, TBH. Couldn't rip them out fast enough.

Interesting. I didn't notice the high action honestly but many of the really lower priced brands/models ship high action to hide uneven frets for sure. I'm doing an Ibanez Gio GRG now and it shipped at 2.25mm at the low E 12th fret. Yowsa. I hate that I got the pickups wrong in this! Oy. But thanks for the correction!

It is a pretty-looking guitar that's relatively well made. It's just the fretwork they should address. Not just on these, but on all the models.

And the BB's were fine for PAF-ish tones. Just not my thing. But I'm overall not a fan of Alnico 2's.

They're great for budget guitars, but an LTD EC-1000 is the same budget and comes with much better hardware and electronics.

I just recently bought an EPI LP Special after reviewing it and the frets are perfect on that. I love that little guitar!

Lucky!

I bought a Custom and a 1959 last year, and both were high fret galore. A fretjob fixed the 1959, but the Custom had some frets that were slightly lifting off the edge of the fretboard in places. I returned it and got a cheapy Gibson instead.

It's a shame, because I much preferred how the Custom looked and the thinner neck profile compared to the 59. But the 1959 is pretty too. I've just never loved those old Gibson burst finishes ending in yellow. Not very metal, IMO, LOL. But the 1959 has a very pretty top.
