Doctor Love
I finally got my hands on a newer guitar model that people might actually be interested in! The new Epiphone Les Paul Special "Inspired by Gibson" Double Cutaway model. I already have the single cut version of this at half the price and I absolutely love it. This one though, is $1000 and I'm super curious to see if I feel like it's twice as good. To be fair, it does come with a nice case, but still. Yowsa!
Let's have some fun on a Friday and "Celebrate Mediocrity" with me!

Let me get this straight, you've already had the single cut but now you've received the double cut? Why would you circumcise your balls?
But just borrowing the double cut to see if they like the breeze!

I had a 2024 Gibson '61 Standard SG, and a 2024 Epi Inspired by 1963 Les Paul SG. Which were close in price, only a few hundred $ difference.

I sold the Gibson, kept the Epi.
I still love my 61 Standard SG so I'm plugging my ears to this post going LA LA LA LA .... no regerts!

King Rod layin' down some whoopass slide guitar on his black double cut that he modded with PAF's

Oh hell yeah! I wore the Stone Blue LP out. Rod is among my handful of players that I'm always happy to hear play slide. So lyrical. When he trades slide licks with Lonesome Dave's vocals at the end of Stone Blue it gets me every time. I love pretty much every lick and solo he ever played.
Back in the mid 80's, before we could find out such shenanigans in advance, I went to see "Foghat" in a relatively large but small market and nearby club. I was super stoked to be about to see Dave and Rod and the whole thing. Nope. It was just Roger Earl and three other lame ass dudes. Gotta give it to them for being ahead of their time on that bait and switch.
