This guy puts all the other students of Hendrix's approach to absolute shame.

My jaw dropped the first time I heard his guitar. If I ever get into a rut with my blues playing, where I feel I'm not pushing my own envelope, I listen to Eric and take notes.

yeah hes way cool , thx for the vid link ! he actually plays upside down too...

I freakin LOVE Eric Gales!!!
Hes definitely one of my all time favorite guitarists. So much feel and chops in one person!
..even though hes gotta get off the rock
Picture of a thousand faces is an AMAZING album!

one of my fav's. he just oozes greasy feel. never heard him ever do this trower tune before either, very neat

I actually have his first CD spinning in the front of the house while I clean up the kitchen. The kids and I LOVE that CD!!!

Unfortunately Mr. Gales is serving some prison time for failing to report to his probation officer following a 2006 Cocaine and Weapons possession charge. :(

Supposedly he gets out this month.

I saw Eric Gales out play Joe Bonamassa in Nashville *IMHO*

He's a bad motha!

I believe it. Gales is the real deal. Not saying Bonamassa isn't, but Gales has home court advantage in the blues arena, and plus he's just fucking magical.

The great thing about Gales is that he gives the impression that he was born able to play like that. I never got the feeling that Gales has to practice very much. It just kinda falls out of him like psychadelic sweat.

That guy kills. Here's hoping he gets back on a good path & puts his talents to good use.

Thanks for the vidshare.

Saw him play with Buddy Guy. Buddy had nothing on this cat.

This is refreshing around here. If I'd a heard anymore Satriani/Eric Johnson instrumental rip offs I thought I was gonna shoot myself in the head. :D We needed a good Hendrix rip off. The guys pocket is ridiculous, I love the part around 4:28. What an amazing player and he's in jail, no MI shit here. :D Like it!!!!

Yeah IMO he's the greatest unsung hero I've seen in music.

Playing a gig in prison while you are an inmate = instant street cred
