Never got to see him live. Hopefully I will have a chance some day. I *did* get to see his brother, Little Jimmy King play live though, from about 3 feet away. That was a killer show, and THE moment that made me want a Flying V!
I remember seeing Eric Gales on The Arsenio Hall show back in the late '80's, maybe '90. I think he did 2 appearances. When I was working at Elektra my boss was telling me about how when he was recording his first alubm @ 16 ("High Wire") SRV was at the same studio working on "In Step" and apparently inbetween sessions the two would hook up and jam. To be a fly on that wall! Unfortunately I don't *think* that any recordings were made.

my band opened for him on his first tour, i think he was only 16, or barely 17 at the time.
he blew us off the stage......and his older brother eugene is a SOLID bassist with a great voice.
hope he got out of jail and can stay clean.....Eric is a WICKED good player
