I am considering getting an ESP custom guitar sometime this year, is there something I should know about the ordering process? Any preferred dealers for an ESP custom? I was gonna possibly go through Sweetwater. Also, I know they are not cheap but what should I expect to pay for a bolt on? Here is a picture of what I am considering.

Thanks,
Scott

Can't help in any practical way, but my understanding is that when they restructured the lines and brought in EII and ESP USA, the pricing for custom orders went through the roof. Not sure if they'd make a DeGarmo replica without his permission given his buddy is still on their books, but they've been pretty cavalier about that sort of thing in the past.

I would guess sweet water would be good as a dealer. They seem pretty good on any transactions I've ever had with them. I've never gotten a custom through them but have gotten several ESP customs and it's always been amazing guitars. I've always dealt with a local dealer who is no longer in business but I would guess sweet water could do it. I think ESP will build you anything as long as you are willing to spend serious coin

At least $4 grand. More like 5-6 though. I'd go ahead and get a neck thru if ur gonna order one.

It really depends on what you want. Special paint, graphics, inlays, etc.. all cost extra.

Considering most "ESP"s these days range from $3500-$6000+, I would venture a full on custom order with the special inlays, paint, etc... you are wanting would be well into that range if not more.

Also it's a pretty good chance they won't make that guitar with all the Degarmo/Queensryche elements.

Of course you never know 100% until you ask. Just contact a ESP dealer, tell them what you want and see what the pricing will be and if they will make it.

The picture was actually taken from the ESP custom shop gallery so I am assuming that they will make it since they have recently.

If you're going to get a custom esp, you should really just go all-out and get one of the Alfee Angel guitars. THOSE are custom! I'd imagine they start around $20k.

Don't know much about the guitar, but I've had about the best service I could hope for from Sweetwater. Have ordered from them in the past, have a pending order on a new Ibanez 7 string, and have been nothing but happy in my dealings with them.

Bucks County huh? Small world.
I'm originally from Montgomery County (Jenkintown). Was just back there visiting last month.

I've always had good experience with Sweetwater, think they would be a pretty good choice for something like that.

ESP customs take forever. Do the online price quote on the ESP site then take it to a dealer for the discounted price. Will take at least 12 months.

I don't see on their website where I can submit for an online quote. It just says to print the form and take to an Authorized Dealer for a quote.

Anybody have a more accurate estimate of what this would run? Anyone do a custom with ESP lately?

I´d be surprised if you came away with it for less than $5000 or so.

I'd be interested in what ESP would have to say about using the trademarked logo on a guitar for another customer.

Also, I'd considering talking to Studio Gears.com about the guitar. I have no personal experience with the ESP custom orders, but I've read online about specs being incorrect and/or things getting lost in the translation. Studio Gears seem to get a lot of special guitars from ESP, (and I think they're pretty close to the USA shop), so the communication between the store and ESP might be a bit better.

True, but the picture was in their Custom Gallery which I would assume was for a customer. I guess assume is the key word.....

Oh.... Well I will see what they say. Who knows, the price might put it out of range anyhow.
