Not sure. Maybe it's a small scale outlet with a focus on a few guitar runs for specific cats. I can't see them bettering their MiJ top drawer guitars with producton in the US. Fact is, I foresee less quality and a higher price if it rolls out all things being equal. The MiJ Horizons are beautiful guitars - incredible quality and consistency - this comes with a focus on detail and obsessiveness. It would take some special talent at a special salary to deliver the same on north american soil.

I don't know about that, don't forget the greatest guitars were invented and perfected in the USA.

I completely concur with you on the history of great guitars. But as mentioned, for them to get it right with the obsessive level of quality and craft, it'll be a pretty penny I am sure. I mean hell, those very same "original" manufacturers now offer reissues for retarded coin and even THOSE can be lemons. So....

I don't get it. I really can't understand ESP's current strategy with the new Elite LTD's and now this move. A new factory isn't cheap.

As others have said, the us is the new asia in terms of manufacturing. The dollar is weak and shipping is getting more expensive...and this is a production facility NOT a custom shop. Makes sense to me.

If fender can produce a myriad of us models priced below, well below in some cases, the price of an ltd elite that has as good if not better consistency and quality, then why cant other manufacturers do the same?
