Yes,these cats have been very helpful to me in terms of info and tube replacement.
Gain, sound, the guy who owns this store is a tube FREAK,like he sleeps with tubes, eats
with tubes,in a good way  And a very nice guy.great prices to.And when he
says he matched tubes for certain amps you can trust him.In the past 5 years or so i retubed
about 15 amps and hes always right there on the money.

bob is awesome, his how to videos for biasing an amp is how I learned to do it

I ordered tubes from them a few times. I asked if the tubes were dark sounding and at that point Bob starting getting mad and talked shit about the HC forums. He said the JJ preamp tubes are not dark... yet every thread says they are

bought a meter and reader from him a long time ago that was a POS and fried a biasing diode in one amplifier and cooked the PT in another.

i also had bad experiences with microphonic preamp tubes from his site.

nice guy and informative - but i order strictly from dougstubes and thetubestore now - much better quality control and cheaper.

I find JJ preamp tubes dark :D

I would order from Bob if I just wanted JJ's, but I am not really a fan of their preamp tubes and like suppliers who have more than 1 brand....

Bob takes his business seriously, and like most businesses there are good and bad interactions.

I find JJ preamp tubes to be a little dark, but higher output than others. The power tubes are thick and middy, nice clarity. Perhaps the best EL84 tubes I've used.

I wouldn't recommend JJ's for every application, but when I want JJ's I go to Bob at Eurotubes.

Bob is always very helpful;. When I got the very first Wigle Purplexing 100 ouside f them ones that Jimmy had for himself, Bob came to my house to work on it. It had issues with the bias drifting and Bob actually made a house call. I ended not needing new tubes and he charged me nothing. That is excellent customer service.

Definitely not as bright as Chinese tubes. I personally don't like their preamp tubes, although I have to admit my opinion is based on their performance in Diezels. They could very well be great in other amps. I do like their JJ E34Ls, I just dig how these sound when you crank them up a notch. Now their regular EL34s shrink in comparison to SED EL34s IMO.

I have had nothing but world class customer service experiences from Bob and Eurotubes. Unfortunately, like others here I am not a huge fan of the preamp tubes (ecc83s) because I have found them to give my amps that "just placed a blanket" over the speakers effect. What's strange is, opinions are mixed about this - I have asked opinions of my amp techs and certain boutique builders and got radically different opinions. Oddly enough, I gave the ecc83s another shot recently when I heard Mesa was now using them and bought a whole bunch for my Dual Rectifier which was due for a re-tube and its sounds wonderful - go figure? Maybe I just needed the wax cleaned out of my ears, or maybe things have changed across different batches and production runs.

Having tested alot of tube brands in my amps, I don't think the biggest thing to remember is that every amp is different. I am sure there is variation between tubes, but I think the player and amp has a great effect than the variation.

I really disliked JJ preamp tubes in my mesa mark IV. However, in the Sovtek Mig60 I used to have they were my favorite. I also like the few JJ's I have in my Vox AC50. Peavey amp owners seem to like JJ preamp tubes too. In general though I am not a JJ preamp tube fan. I do in general like their power tubes...

it must have been the power of suggestion that you like them now :D

I bought JJ's for my rectifier through Eurotubes and learned a lot from their site, but they get VERY defensive if you don't totally kiss their ass.

I got my tubes, followed their directions (cleaning tube sockets with contact spray with the prongs of a tube) I did everything very thoroughly and put the new glass in, fired it up and POP.....amp shuts down. I called Eurotubes and told them what happened and they said "well did you follow instructions and clean the tube sockets?" I explained that I did and they questioned me SEVERAL times. :gethim: What a dick! Why would I lie about something so stupid?

I finally got angry with him and said "look, I just spent a bunch of $ on your tubes, followed your directions and my amp popped and shut down. WTF is going on?" He replies with, "OHHH, you retubed with KT-77's so you need to step up to so and so fuse"(I forgot actual fuse)

I did and haven't had a problem since, but he could have just listened and used his brain. They never told me about changing the fuse before that. Regardless, I love the tubes and they're going on two years and still sounding great.

I learned how to self bias my carvin legacy from bob's vids. he is a cool guy!

Sorry, the educator in me couldn't get past the third misuse of punctuation to read your post.   :scared:   :D ;) :)
