EV SRO/12 alnico recone?

I purchased an alnico EV SRO/12 (coffee can style) that needs a recone (the guy is willing to take it back, trying to see if I want to keep it though). I know they don't make the recone kit for it anymore. Would using a 12L kit sound alright or is there an alternative? Also, I got an estimate from a local store for around $200 if they can get an EV recone kit, a little less for 3rd party. At that price, is it worth it? Thanks
