I been a part time electrician for over 40 years.

A Simple task that went on for 3 weekends.

All i wanted to do was change my exterior flood lights to LEDs.

PAR 38 bulbs

Got them im. All theyd do is flicker.
Yard looked like a disco. Kinda cool though.

Put old lights in. Worked Fine.

Figure i got a bad batch of LEDs.
Which deep inside i knew otherwise

Exchanged them anyways. Back up and down the 12 foot ladder. Same scenario.

Now getting frustrated. Found the website and shot an email over to tech.

Get an answer the next day. He says if i want to use LEDs i need the dimable ones eventhough the fixtures aren't on a dimmable switch. Go figure WTF.

Exchanged that box. TY lowes for your patience. All work fine.

Disclaimer. LEDS weren't even on the drawing board when i learned the trade in the 80s

Live and learn. Even a semi pro needs help lol

Costco has better prices on those things.

Im not paying a godamn membership to a box store
It's a gimmick for sure but, I do save a lot of money.

It only pays for itself if you do enough shopping there and there are things I save a lot of money on.

Cool post and excellent 'life lesson.' Like you said, LEDs weren't even on anyone's drawing board when you learned your trade. There is no shame in not knowing everything - nobody does. The unfortunate part is the folks who just lose the drive to keep learning along the way. That's what keeps us engaged and relevant and keeps us out on the field where life happens. Post an evening pic with the new LEDs!!
