Event Horizon 2 channel...what do you guys think ?

Anyone here have one, and what did it replace for you ? What amp or amps are similar in tone ? I have a chance to buy one locally for pretty short money, but I have to make some time to go check it out. Any feedback from you guys would be appreciated. Thanks !

Best 2 channel amp out there. Replaced my Shiva. Better gain structure (and more gain available), and cleans were as good or better. Plus the internal attenuator was a nice feature.

Rich actually prefers his Shiva 20th over the PWE EH......

For those that have played them, what do they do that a Boogie Triple Rectifier,Boogie MarkIII, Diezel Herbert, Splawn Pro Mod, Cameron Atomica, or Egnater modified Marshalls don't do ? (Besides the obvious second channel with some of these listed amps being single channel ) More or less gain ? Better cleans ? How it "feels" when playing it ? I love the Atomica's sound, but it feels "stiff" to me. And the Splawn sounds great and has great features, but it's a little too "unforgiving" for me...

At the time, it was a regular Shiva. But I've owned a 20th Anniv Shiva as well. And while the 20th Shiva can get higher gain, I prefer the edge of the Event Horizon's higher gain tones. Sounds more modern than the 20th, also.

Don't get me wrong, the 20th Shiva is one of the best amps out there. But the EH edges it out, imo.

I have one andwas going to sell it, but decided to keep it. It is such a good sounding and feeling amp. To me it is extremely well made, as good as anything. Marshall-type, thick, vintage but with plenty of gain on tap. I have played everything from Led Zep to Metallica and Creed on it and all sounded great with the band. Great cut and clarity, good pumch. To me, it is my ultimate modded Marshall or Marshall like amp.

My 20th Shiva is still my favorite amp to date, but I still love the PWE a lot! I have a 20th with EL34s. I custom ordered it.
Right now, my favorite amp, is my BFG modified Dual Rectifier and my amp of choice right now out of the amps I own. With G12K-100s in my Stone Age, my modded DR is magical.
