Eventide H9 user please help me out. NPD gone very bad!

So my H9 arrived today and I proceeded to take my TC Nova Mod off my board and replace it with the H9.

Set up everything in the effects loop as per normal. Here's my fx loop chain.

FX Send - Tone Freak Buff Puff - Eventide H9 - Vox DelayLab - FX Return.

Fuck me! Now my tone is all muddy and there is a very drastic drop in volume and gain. I know for certain it's the H9 that is causing this. I've tried maxing out the input and output levels but nothing helps.

Take the H9 out of the chain and my tone is back to normal!

What is going on here? Is there something I'm not setting up right on the H9???

Please help me out :(

FWIW, my amp is a JCM2000 DSL100 head.

Is your output set to line level?

Output of the H9?

How do I do that?

If you're referring to the Loop Level button on my DSL, then it's set to Instrument Level.

How are you powering the H9? It's 9 VDC, 500ma, Center Pin (+)

Most pedals are Center Pin (-)

I'm powering it with a Cioks DC-10. 12V 400ma with the centre positive cable.

Start at page 12 of the H9 manual, it tells you how to select between instrument and line level. You want yours to be set to line level for the amp's effects loop.

Set the output level to +4 and still no change.

As far as I can tell, it seems like the H9 is not seeing enough level.

You know how the red light is supposed to blink occasionally to signal that the input level is just right? Well, I can't even get the red light to come on. All this tells me is that the level going into the H9 is way too low.

Is my assumption correct?

I apologise in advance.

I'm a fucking idiot. Yes I am. I kicked myself already.

It was the fucking Charvel. The toggle switch is messed up. Plugged in my Ibby and all was good again.

I'm one stupid motherfucker

Hey man, we've all been there.

Standing on stage looking at my gear cause there's no sound. Oh damn, plug the guitar in, or turn the amp off standby.

It happens.

Then why did it work when you took the H9 out of the equation? Odd
