I'm about to trade in my Strymon El Capistan for an Eventide H9. I haven't tried it.. and it's a local "used" trade.

Have anyone tried the H9? Whats the opinion.

If it's has as good sounding delays as the Strymon, i might swell save myself some pedal board space with the H9.

The algorithms are from the Factor pedals so it should sound like the Timefactor, whose Tape delay was very convincing in the latest firmware. I'd say I think the ElCap havs a more subtile, delicate tape delay than the TF/H9 one, which is a bit more in your face (I had the same feeling with TF vs TL on other delay types). I've never played a real tape echo so I can't say which one is "realer", but I can say that they both sound very fine, in a different way.

Past that, the H9 offers *a bit* more versatility than the El Cap :)

Thanks allot for the input! Yeah, I don't have much space on my pedalboard, so that is a great addition.
Will i be able to have a preset featuring delay and modulation + a volume boost, All in one?

It's one algorithm at a time, and usually 1 algorithm is 1 effect, except for a few ones.

It's not a multieffect like an Intelliflex or a G-Force/Major. See it like a swiss knife : it does a lot of things, but one at a time.

I got the H9. I have to say i'm blown away by the sound quality of this pedal! If you know how to use your ears and how to tweak accordingly, this pedal can deliver some of the most tasty sounds i've ever heard from a pedal. I'm selling my strymons and Neunaber Wet.. this is just as good or better... atleast better than the strymons.
It's very fun and easy to tweak, even with the iPhone.. easy to make preset lists for gigs or home use with a few touches.
very well thought out system in general... you can see Eventide have been working very very very hard to get this one right.

Yup, great pedal. I've been playing around with the synthonizer lately and it's great fun.

I've always stood firm on the fact that out of all the stomps out there, my TF and PF are lifers.

Glad you're digging it man

I tried to get a H9 this week and nobody local had one. Want to run it in the loop of my PedalPro.

If the sales on this unit doesn't explode, then Eventide has a marketing problem... for some reason they've always been in the shadows of Strymon (pedal marked-not studio & Pro), with their hideous designs of the stomp boxes. However it's inside that excels.
I have to say the H9 isn't "pretty", but they tried to make it better looking for sure.. Latching on to that model 1-2 iPod design like the Polytune.. it's passé guys ;).
However the practical design of the pedal is superior to anything i know at least. Most importantly.. its easy to tweak on the fly. For some reason I'd wish the stomp box wasn't white ;) It makes rock'n roll look metrosexual.

I have to stress again... the quality of the algorithms are 2nd to none. Full, lush and 3d.

i ilike it but it is an addition not a solution on my live pedalboard

Because it's way too easy to bypass in-app purchase. Lots of editor do not port their apps on Android because of that.
