I just bought an Eventide Pitchfactor pedal. well actually it is a gift from the wife   . anyways, I have read you can get a somewhere in the vein of the EVH balance and 90's tone using it. yes I know it isn't exact and nothing like his W/D/W H3000 set ups, but I do hear it is semi close, so I was curious if anyone has tried it and if so what settings they used ?

I use the PitchFactor in my W/D/W setup for this. I use the MicropitchShift preset, but I set it at -9 cents Left/+9 cents right. and I set my SDE-3000 delays for 250ms Left/500 ms Right. I think you can do this right in the PitchFactor. In my setup, I use KILLDRY, but you'll need a lot of dry in your mix if you are going to run the PitchFactor in your loop or in front of your amp. Anyway, with the right high gainer, these setting will get you very close to Balance.

Yeah Steve, this is how I did it as well, though I thought the delay was more of a matter of preference, not entirely necessary (Seventh Seal aside). I also thought the setting sounded really cool with only +5 / -5 cents, but ultimately it's all very close.

awesome ! thanks ... I was hoping you would chime in, since you seem really knowledgeable on the evh tones.

I've got the H9. It's not just close to VH. It is the sound of VH. VH II Fair Warning H910/H949. 5150 OU812 H910/H949. Carnal knowledge Balance and other 90s VH H3000. It's THE sound.

I wonder what settings Beau Hill used on Warren's leads? You can hear it on away Cool Jr for instance - and returned to on Best of Me.

You know I didn't really notice it on WC Jr; I'll have to listen to that again. You can definitely hear it, tho, on the clean intro to I Wanna Love You.

As far as the solo on Best of Me is concerned, I thought that effect was a vibe?

Friedman told me once that Warren used the SPX90 a lot for pitch.
