I am currently using a boss dd20 for clear digital delays and using a gmajor or carbon copy for more analog sounding delays. I was wondering if the eventide timefactor could do both digital and analog type delays well.

For digital type delays I am going for precise repeats. For analog type delay I am looking for delay that kind of blends into your playing and makes the guitar sound huge... similar to David Gilmour on the comfortably numb solos.

i really like the TF. it can sound very digital if you want it to, but it also has good tape/echo delays
ive owned 2 dd20s and a DL4, but the only non rack delay i could find that would work with my setup is the TF(as it has line level options as well as kill/dry...essential for a parallel loop)

but if i could have any delay it would be the t-rex replica.

I own the entire Factor line up for good reason, they're awesome IMHO.

The TF is a solid box, more like a floor based rack system than a stomp. Loads of features, and wicked FX.

Had 2 of them, sold them both. But if you need the presets that it offers plus MIDI, it's a pretty versatile pedal.

I really like it, very versatile and great sounding delay. The only pedal delays I would prefer would be the Empress Vintage Super Delay, that is about it I think. I have not heard the T Rex, but have heard good things about it. The kill dry is great for a parallel loop as well.

I like it,doesn't beat the tone of the amp to pieces.
I've tried alot of different delays,I also have a carbon
copy I like.it's a little more then just a stomp box,some
decent presets.I bought it used,if your gonna buy one try
to find a used one as well, seems to be a little high, guess the
name cost money too.
Have you tried TC electronic pedals?

Nice pedal, but I prefer the more organic nature of the Damage Control Timeline.

That's why i sold 2 Timefactors and kept a Timeline.

I love the TF, after trying many pedals and rack gear I found exactly what I needed. 2 years now and I have had no gas for more pedals of any kind. Sounds great and the midi was perfect for having the capabilities of a rack on the floor. Seems super transparent as well.

There was a software update a few months back that really improved the tape delay model.
I think its a pretty versatile delay, jack of all trades ... but master of none. But if you want one delay on your board its a great choice.
