I think its interesting people heard such a significant difference in sound quality between the two pedals. Personally, I prefer the sound of digital delays mainly because the delay clarity is usually higher than analog delays. Some people don't like that. The other thing that I wanted from a delay pedal was the ability to program polyrhythms by manipulating tempo, time signatures, and if it came down to it, milliseconds. The TimeFactor does this in spades and is able to do it because of the dual delay feature! One quick example: If you set the BPM to 125, Delay A to 1/4, and Delay B to 5/16 you get a 5:4 polyrhythm at 100 bpm! I doubt most people want to do this or even care that it can be done, but when it comes to potential, the TimeFactor has a lot of it!

This thread is timely for me since I need to put a small pedalboard together. The videos I've watched of the TC Flashback have really caught my ear. I'd probably want the x4, but the Eventide sounds great too and has more flexibility.

Timeline for the win. It's such a killer pedal. The TF was a bit easier for me to use. I did not personally find the digital delay to be better though. My Timeline definitely inspires me to play more and write more creatively.
In the end though, you can;t go wrong with either!

I ended up bringing many of the delay repeats and lowering the mix. I loved their presets but don't play ambient rock. So hanging a note for 30 seconds didn't work for me.
Once I got the hang of tweaking the styrmon settings then I went neck deep into all the parameters and started banking my own styles. I hate programming stuff but loved doing it with the Timeline.

I never used the TL, but the TF have been great for me to bring to rehearsals or small gigs. I can dial in a usable delay quickly right on the gig. But my go-to delay comes from my TC G-Major 
the delay on that is serious, studio quality.
The TF have been a real versatile delay for me when i need one on the go.
