What would you recommend to someone camera wise for outdoor property protection?
I have power and wi-fi in the house, but Id also like to mount a camera on the front of my barn.
I have plenty of power in the barn, but wi-fi doesn't make it out there.

FedEx making a delivery drove over the end of my new sidewalk and broke it.
Saved up ten years for that walk and I had no way of proving it.
Driver said he didnt do it...
 
They make game cams that are cellular. Pricey but they work. Make sure you get one with black infrared lighting.

I stand by what I said. Like you, I take people at face value and I do believe what he said. More-specifically, I believe that he believes what he said and isn't trying to pull the wool over our eyes. There's a difference and it's not disrespectful to him to acknowledge that we believe that he believes.

You can always count on @acceptance to take the contrary or least possible POV. It’s why I believe ( with a couple exceptions) that most of his arguments are simply him being the devil’s advocate, so to speak. The alternative would be that he believes every conspiracy theory he’s ever heard or that will ever be presented. And he isn’t an idiot so I don’t believe that.

Honestly I overlooked the stuff about omens and belt recorders. Strictly speaking though, we don't know what's really going on, even if it appears to be most easily explained as a "mental health" issue. People like pat answers. Maybe this case is easy. I think the world is more complex and nuanced than most would like to believe. I don't think telling someone they are crazy is helpful, even if they are crazy. Kind of a delicate situation.

And the simplest explanation is almost always the correct one. Occam’s razor or some shit.

Some of the ones we use actually run on a cellular network. It's around $12/month per camera, IIRC. We have them inside of dual purpose birdhouses and a scarecrow in the garden with solar and rechargeable batteries that need swapped out about once a month during the winter/rainy season. I think it was around $400 per camera and $50 per extra battery. They work awesome and I can see real time with my phone and also automatically store to the cloud for a month. Edit: forgot to mention if anyone goes this route to get ones with HDR, because they don't get overwhelmed by flashlights and other bright lighting.
 
Had a friend that had very similar suspicions and altered sense of reality. He was diagnosed with schizophrenia and is doing well on meds. It is nothing to be ashamed of. My advice is to see your doctor and explain how your feeling to him or her. They will help you.

Fair call I reckon. Dude doesn't intentionally try to cause "trouble" IMHO.
 
As an aside, I admit being a bit of a contrarian, and recognize it probably biases my thinking. Regardless, for the most part I am sincere in what I argue. I also suggest playing "Devils advocate" with your own thinking as it hones the ability to stay objective.
