It's interesting how people who aren't guitarists or musicians describe tone.

My band played a fund raiser for a local school, and my parents come out to see us. After the show, my mom said she really liked the sound of my guitar. She said "it sounded big and thick and had a lot of depth, but clear too." :D Thanks mom!

I was playing through my Granger 2204 into a Bogner 4x12 loaded with Vet 30's and V30's.

I've received it a few times but I typically receive more compliments for the sound my pedals make. People who don't know guitars can hear effects so, makes sense I guess.

My wife and my mom have both told me they like the tones I'm getting from my Egnater M4 rig.

I don't know which was more of a surprise, but I will say wife since she is much more discerning (she usually only likes cleaner tones).

My mom, no.

She'll says things more important like. The band sounded great. Nice song. You're singer sounded fantastic.

If your MOM complimented you on your tone that specifically- it must have been DAMN good.

Too specific on her part to have been just supportive- sounds real.

What about all those guys who say people in the audience will never care about your tones............... some will.
