Ever had a magical amp experience???

I have had little experience and hands on with many of the "boutique" amps mentioned herein so for me it is my '76 JMP that Trace at Voodoo modded. I honestly don't think there is any music style I can't cover with the amp or some type of amp+pedal. The cleans (volume rolled back) are good and the point of breakup is great! With the added features I have many tone shaping options available but the amp really shines in the classic rock to modded Marshall hi-gain arena. The one thing I requested of Trace when he did the work was for amp retain it's true Marshall voicing, otherwise he had a somewhat blank canvass from there and he really delivered. Even when the gained is cranked up this amp responds very well to all of my guitar's volume controls which is a big plus. It eliminates the need for a dedicated clean channel. Paired with an Orange PPC212 the sound is huge! This is the one amp that will never leave my possession and always brings a smile to my face when I crank her up.

Bogner Uberschall. Hadn't heard anything like it and the sound in the room was glorious through the Uberkab. It inspired me to put a quick demo together that I believe is still on the Bogner site, several years later.
The gain channel is one of my all time favorites! Need more than 2 channels though. :aww:

My vht d60.. Once i figured out how to use the two gain knobs and got it set right, i quit using my boost except for solo sections. Its loud, punchy, and just straight sings at volume! I sold my '77jmp after getting it dialed in cause it does everything that amp did for me with more balls.. I like other vht's as well; but the deliverance is straight magic.
Its odd, but i can get it dialed in like my marshall, or my old markIII, or more modern like a 5150... Crazy versatile for a single channel amp.

my jmp 77 and wizard mcII. Always makes me laugh when I see someone hack up a jmp 77 with mods(charveldan), when they could have just bought the modded amp and left the vintage amp alone for what it is good for.

Played a brand new 2014 Cameron CCV last week and was absolutely blown away! Holy smokes!

No doubt. The Uberschall was a heavens opening up experience but the the D60/D412 is phenomenal. I just had Fryette put the loop in it and do a tune up. Awesome...

The amp I still think about once in awhile was a '78 JMP mk II 50 watt with KT66s. I dunno what it was but that thing was just perfect with my strat and '69 and '70 fuzzes I was trying at the time. I've played tons of marshalls and that sticks out. Should've bought it, d'oh!

No thanks, my PRS is Pretty badass also. I barely play we are so busy with the band, touring n press shit. I can barely breath. But soon going to start writing for our 3rd album.

your killin me smalls

love him or hate him, his amps are unbelievable when it comes to hard rock. TONE.

I was lucky enough to get to play a Dumble several years ago, absolutely fantastic amp.

Plugging into a 1973 50w JMP Bass was an eye-opener and I bought it on the spot.
A couple of months later I was very lucky and was able to buy a 68 50w smallbox plexi.

A good LP into a SLO100 turned WAY up is also a glorious thing.

Earlier this year, I got to play a Blankenship-modded 60s Bassman that was out of this world and I have a Blankenship Bassman clone on order as a result.

The first time I really explored the blue channel with my 5150 III 50 watt. Gain set a little past noon with a tc electronic spark boost in front of the amp. Still my favorite tone I've ever had. Still play it that way today

Diezel Herbert still King of all Amps
I second

3rd.

I am trading out a Bones - which is an awesome amp - I tested it before packing it up, (and a Deliverance 120 = killer) and then plugged in my Herbert, fresh back from a check-up - and it is still the most brutal amp I've been lucky enough to own. So glad I decided to keep it

I have had a few:

First time I played a properly cranked JCM800 with a boost...way back when...I almost shit my pants. This was the first "real" amp I ever played. Prior to that it was all SS Peaveys and Crates.

I owned a Voodoo modded VHT Ultra Lead that was so inspiring to play, I could kick myself for selling it.

The first time I played a properly dialed in Mesa Mark III

The first time I played the FJA modded Single Recto.

And last, but certainly not least.....every time I plug into my Cherry Bomb. The single most inspiring amp I have ever played through.

I think it was the first time I could open up my JCM800 2203 and 1960A cab with 75's. It was the first Marshall I ever bought. I was not really drooling over it alone in my practice room. The first time I cranked it up past 5 with a Boss SD-1 in front at band practice I was in heaven. It still doesn't much better than that!
