Ever have a Boss pedal do this.

When it's plugged in with a battery the LED comes on ok, but plugged into my pedal power 2 the LED doesn't come on, or it's extremely dim. All my others pedals work fine and the Boss is plugged into a regular 9v input on the power supply. I went as far as unplugging everything but the Boss pedal, same thing. Egh, with what it's probably doing to my signal maybe I'd be better off without it anyway. It's a MIJ CE-2.

Older boss pedals like that used the 12v supply. If you use a 12v out on your pedal power it will work fine. Also, if those pedals are daisy chained with another pedal they will work fine with the standard 9 volts.

Yes. There is a resistor you can remove also to make it compatible with the newer 9v supplies. I did this with me DM-2 and it worked. I can't remember what I did, but if you google it, you should be able to find it pretty easily.

I was going to mention that.

My MIJ GE-7 was the same way.

There are easy mods to convert these older pedals to standard 9V.

For the CE-2:

Positions D5/R53 remove components and replace with a jumper wire.

THe first Pedal Power had a series of small dip switches on it. One setting was for the older Boss pedals that used the ACA 120 adapter and the other for the newer pedals that take the PSA 120 adapter. I don't think any of them were 12v sources.

I've got an old MIJ CE2 that i only run battery because my cheapo power supply isn't right.

Think the power supply George mentioned is actually 9 volt AC, instead of 9 volt DC?

I have the exact same issue with an old CE-2. I haven't done anything about it since my pedals are racked but its good to know its a common problem.

Yup that's it. I have a Voodoo ISO 5 that has a 12v output. I used that and the LED works fine. Interesting how I have a MIJ Boss Flanger that works fine on the 9v outputs.

pedal sound any different? The older Boss pedals will say "Use ACA adapter" while the newer ones will want the PSA type. its either near the power plug or on the bottom plate, can't remember which.
