Smoke alarm backup battery not go dead between 2am and 5am?

JHFC. Every fucking time.
I swear they do this shit on purpose. Planned battery death.

Now I started thinking, maybe if I put the battery in at 2am, when the battery starts to die the next time, it will be at a reasonable hour? I never replace the batteries at 2am, just rip the thing down from the ceiling and put it in the garage till the next day. This last one, I put in the fucking toilet and flushed water over it. Gonna have to go to Home Depot later.

Same here, and we have vaulted ceilings. Fucking pain in the ass.

OMG I can imagine breaking out my 20' ladder at 2am. Oh I'd be pissed.
Had a neighbor, use to leave his kids window open across the street. That thing beeped every 1 minute for 6 months. Was watching TV in my living room, in the Summer. I had my front windows open, and could still hear the fucking thing. It's liky e someone stabbing you in the ear drum with an awl every 1 minute. I finally saw the guy outside a month later (they are vampires) and offered him a battery. He said "I thought there was a problem with the alarm system."

I said, it's been beeping for 4 months. The next day he took care of it.

Yep. I've blasted countless smoke detectors off the ceiling at 4am with a broomstick.

Why don’t you geniuses just go ahead and change them before the batteries expire?
I'm all batteried out bro. Got 15 of them :(
15 smoke alarms
24 water sensors for my alarm system, 15 entry sensors, 3 motion sensors. These all have batteries.
3 toilets
5 sinks
I'm sure I'm forgetting some other shit that breaks constantly and takes up my time.
I'm fucking done. Can't wait to get a single wide.

I like those Barndominiums being built in the south.

Anyone know anything good or bad about them?

Well, with a barndo, there is no internal structure, from what I've seen, so there is no way to hang drywall. That to me, negates the pros of a barndo, meaning just assemble and you're done. Unless of course you don't want drywall on the inside. So you just stare at metal posts and insulation?

Both traditional and barndos are built on a slab, both require site survey, escavation, foundation, sewer or septic, water. That's where most of the cost comes in. If you're building a stick built, by yourself, you could build a helluva crib for 75k excluding cost of plumber and electrical and foundation and all of that.

I'm too lazy, when I move, I'm going to most likely get a trailer and a shipping container or a modular house.

I would buy one built, they seem to be getting popular enough.

No reason you can't frame rooms inside the structure.
