I have the original 6L6 version as well, without the concentric pots, but I found a good middle ground setting between the green and blue that gives me what I need, as long as I coil-split my humbuckers when playing in green mode.
This way, with the gain around 1 or 2 'o clock, the blue channel sounds great (of course, my tube swaps helped there too and I put a NOS RFT 12AX7 in V1) and I still have a quite Fender-y clean tone, maybe not as bloomy or bell-like as a real Fender or Mesa Mark clean...
But for me, the whole point of getting the EVH 50W head was a lower-weight alternative for gigging, while still having 3 channels (and a good footswitchable fx-loop).
I'm thinking about getting the Bogner 3534 (either 35W or 50W version, as long as it has the new loop), but they're quite expensive in Europe and it doesn't have a footswitchable fx-loop...
