EVh 5150 iii 100 watt mods on blue channel?

So i have the 100 watt which i love, i want to mod the blue channel to have more gain ( like the 50 watt version has) i was wondering if anyone has done this or has any ideas. I really like this amp but for me the blue does not cut it.
 
Koko boost ... on then off.... then on again to the mid side, then off again.

That's two extra channels :)
 
I want to add gain to my blue channel too but don't want to change tone.i end up using a boost at times
 
Im trying not to use any pedals with this, id rather mod it.
 
Mod it and the value will go down you realize.. I know you are set against pedals but a clean boost is worth a shot. As for more gain, that's what the red channel was designed for.

yea i realize that, it doesnt bother me i need this thing to do what i want..

I use a Koko exactly like this on my 50 watter. Sounds great!!! IMHO modding it when I have the Koko would be silly.
 
I know you don't want pedals, but curious as to why? Is it just the extra hookup?
 
So nobody has modded these yet? Reason i dont wanna use boost is because its easier to switch between ch2 and 3 with one motion not two (one turning off the boost an then pressing the ch3 button)
 
OK just look at schematics :

put A 220k in // of the R25
Take off the R26

That's all, you have the blue preamp of the 50w version....
preamp voltages are little higher in 100w version too...
So try first resistances mod.
 
Sorry to resurrect a dead thread, I was wondering if you (original poster) did the resistors or any other mods to get more gain on the blue channel

That depends on who does the mod. You get a well known and reputable tech that has the fan boy factor going these days and the value might go up.

I'd did and it worked it did give it al lot more gain (not anywhere near the new 100s model) but what happened was that when I switched between the green and blue channels it made a huge poping noise. This mod has nothing to do with the channel switching and for some reason it messed up the muting fet. I had the amp warrantied out wih a new one, and now I'm too scared to mod it again. I wish some one posted a schematic if the 100s ( since it has a tone more gain than the. 50 watt) so we can make changes to it, this is an amazing amp but his blue channel really dissapoints me.

The 100s is not online yet, I did put back the values and it still had the loud thud when switching channels after, ( it damaged the amp)

It's the third from the top in the schematic section.
 
:confused: unless im blind... thats the regular 100 watt one NOT the new 100s (stealth)
