EVH 5150 III Video Demo

Most of you have already heard this, but I decided to extend it and add a clean section and make it longer. And for kicks made a video so you can see the gear used. My first youtube upload ever, I feel like a virgin.. Since I already recorded it, basically its lip syncing via guitar, but what the hay, at least you can look at gear while listening.

Question for those who makes videos. I could not get a pastable link after I made the video. Where do you find that on your YouTube page? Mine had like extra stuff in the link that made it not work with this embedding. Noob here.

For YouTube embedding all you have to do is put the very last part of the YouTube url in-between the link code brackets. It's called the video ID and comes after the v= in the YouTube URL.

So yours would look like this:

It's interesting to hear the 5150 III being used out of normal context - with a Strat! Sounds really good.

Funny thing is, if you only posted the audio portion, I bet nobody would guess you were using the EVH. I would have said Marshall Bluesbraker with Fulltone OD!

Yes I got the second head and have to ship the top one back. Sales guy said they tried it to make sure it didn't pop. I get it out of box and switch channels and it still pops. Not quit as loud but it still does. Wth? I may experiment with different outlets and what not but my engl switches silently so I am assuming its the amp again. Ugh so stupid but at this point I can live with it and unless I have to, don't see this amp going anywhere anytime soon.

Yeah I got the amp mostly to do hard rock stuff but really am happy that this amp can do more then that. I demoed a 6505+ with a strat to and really liked how that sounded as well. I think they can be more versatile then expected. Specially the evh version. With a strat I can get a pretty wide range and it sounds really good rolling off the volume for various gains Still in honeymoon phase but me likey. I am actually thinking of selling my cab and going all evh cause word is it pairs best with their cabs.

Only real complaint is the channel switching pop which I am 2 for 2. Those who have no pop be thankful.

I like these clips better than any other 5150III clip that Ive heard and youre using it in an application not commonly associated with it..

So popping is still an issue with these amps? That really has me thinking twice about picking one of these up. My old 3 channel Recto popped and it drove me insane.

Yes 2 of out of the 2 amps I have pop when I switch channels. This one does it a little less quiet. I can live with it, once you have some volume going you won't hear it, and as the amp warms up, it seems to go down a little, but definitely pops. Kind of annoying since Every amp I have had hasn't had that issue to this extent, but like I said I can live with it. May have it serviced at some point, but I like this amp well enough to just keep it and not send it back again. What sucks is that there are some amps out there that DON'T pop so its not across the board. I am gonna investigate with plugging into a different socket etc, who knows maybe it just doesn't like the electricity where its at.

Thanks for listening everybody. I will for sure be doing some harder rock with it, but I plugged my strat into it and had so much fun, what led to this little recording..

Distortion sound is from Channel 2 only, I recorded some stuff on the clean Channel as well. Yes neck pickup only (except for the background clean strums in the bridge position)
