Go this amp recently and it’s a lot of fun. More aggressive and bright than most amps I like, but does have some awesomely fun character. I turned all eq’s to zero and added mids to taste!

I’m hearing the marching cab to these is truly a perfect fit for the EQ ranges and overall flavor of this amp. What are your thoughts on the amp? It’s not my #1, but for the money it’s nice, once you tame it.

I run mine through two 412s with GB’s on top and V30’s on the bottom and it sounds killer

I had my first one through a Marshall 425B cab, with those G12C greenbacks. Sounded really good. Sold them both, GAS for something I can't remember. Then, bought a half stack with the matching cab. Didn't sound near as good as that first one with the 425. Went to a Stealth 100 and still meh. Should've kept the first rig.

I like em with regular greenbacks...not really a fan of the 4x12. Had it for 1 day and returned it to guitar center. My splawn cab was way better for my tastes. I though that cab and speakers were kinda boxy and muffled. Didn't care for it.

Love the 50 watt 6L6 I just got. Playing through my Bogner Uberkab

Great amp! Mine sounded great through everything! Greenbacks, G12-65’s, Scumbacks, loved them all.

Im using it with Creamback 65 and V30 mix, sounds pretty good !

Trdl; there are better cans a speakers put there play around if you can.

Had a 50 watter. Thought it was then amp that had a lower mid hump thing I couldn't dial out.

Ended up being the matching 2x12 cab. When I hooked the amp up to a mesa black shadow for a seller to test it out, my hart hurt because it sounded like I thought it always should have.

Dude I did that with an old Soldano. Killer amp but had to move something. Buyer shows up and I ran it through a cab I never use and was in love. Sadness.

I liked running mine through a straight Mesa Traditional 4x12

I had the 50W 6L6 and loved it.

I'm actually bummed that I got rid of it.

I bought mine new in late 2017..I have rolled preamp tubes several times and have it dialed in perfectly for max high gain sound..I imagine I will keep it forever..everytime I play through it sounds better and better..and running the 2 6l6 power tubes at what Howard Kaplan/Fender EVH guy says at 30 mA each it has sounded the best..I run the matching stock 2-12", and a Laney 2-12" with a V30 & G12-75. Love it !
Looking at getting the new 50 watt blacked out Stealth model when they come back in stock.

Here is quick clip of mine.

PHAT!

You guys with 50W, no desire for the 100W?
Which do u recommend? I haven’t owned a 5153.
And Stealth or no?

Just recently picked up an EL34 50 watt. I used to own an original 6L6 50 watt and, like the OP, found it very bright and thin sounding. I also owned the 100 watt when it first came out in 2006 (or 07?) and found that to be thin as well but not as bright as the 6L6 50 watt.

So far (still in the honeymoon period) the EL34 50 watt is fuller sounding and not as bright as it’s 6L6 brothers. It also cuts just fine and sits in a good frequency pocket with a bass player and drummer (jamming at home as the COVID masked bandits). I’m also noticing that the bassiness of the blue channel becomes less of an issue at band levels. I was definitely not expecting to enjoy the EL34 version as much as I have so far.

Of course, YMMV.
