Yes indeed, agree on it having that magic of the 34'S.

may be a great alternative for someone who cannot pick up a BE100.
Very nice sounding there!

Hoping they'll release a 50 watt EL34 version as well.

I like it. And its 1K less than the Friedman, with 3 channels and midi....is it less compressed than the Friedman?

Have you played it? Or the 6L6 Stealth? They are supposedly more open, less compressed than the regular 5153. Which are very compressed.

Chippy said the amp doesn't clean up well when rolling off and the feel & dynamics were a bit "off".

With 8 preamp tubes its hard to have anything but gain/fizz.

If your going to buy one you better get it now before Trump starts a trade war with Mexico, by then these will cost $3500.

All 8 preamp tubes don't go to the same channel.... at most 3.5 tubes are going to the Red channel's preamp.

I'm curious to how much has been redesigned for the newer model. Or if you modded a regular 5153 for EL34s you'd get a similar tone.

Yes i know about gain stages.

6L6 is a beam Tetrode.

El-34's are a power Pentode.

The voltages are all different between the two.

You can't "modify" a Mexican 6L6 amp to EL-34's without re-design boards with different traces & different Transformers ect.

Cool !
It's great to hear opinions from someone who actually plays one

Guys - had a great morning with the 5150! Shockingly the RED channel is where the dynamics live. I was able to get those glassy Marshall crunch tones by using the pup selector on my Modern and then you can go to one the biggest sounding high gain tones I have ever heard. It's a monster !!! Going to record a clip tonight.

have I heard the same before...????

yeah...about 100000000000000000000 times for every amp that's made...

I think that marshall should copywrite the quotes: "get those ...... marshall crunch tones"

no offence to you mate...

Check out RED

All tones in this recording are from the RED channel. I used my guitar's pickup and volume control to change the tone.

I said this on you GN fb .I have heard a lot of clips of a lot of amps .

The red rhythm and lead at the end of this is Insane

It brought me back to Lynch's ULAK sound if you told me this was an outake from those session i would believe ya

That is HIS sound from the Dokken days IMO

That really sounds killer. Really, with this amp you have 3 killer channels, 2 modded Marshall and now a true clean. Another great option for under 2400. Only drawback is the Mexican birthplace. For some anyway.

Took the words right out of my mouth man. That was definitely Lynch/DeMartini territory in that solo tone.

Sounds awesome man. How would you compare this to the 6L6 version? I have the 6L6 one and love it, wondering if buying this would be too much overlap? or deem the 6L6 one useless/obsolete?
