EVH Striped Series 78 Eruption PLUS The Ed Setup revealed

- The setup

- The new EVH guitar

Pretty cool setup video. It's not that different than the way a lot of people do it, I also wrap certain strings up the post and others down the post. Too sharp of an angle (esp on the low E) will make them come back way sharp after dives. You can also 'tune to the stretch' (so it's in tune after bends) or 'tune to the dive' (so it's in tune after a quick dive) and I like tuning to the dive too.

But what's up with twisting the ball end?

".. Also, from the back of the guitar where you put the string through the block on a Fender tremolo tailpiece, every time I turned the tuning peg I would grab the ball end and turn it with every turn of the tuning peg, alleviating twist tension within the string itself. It worked really well. .."

Thanks! I still don't see why the string wouldn't just turn the ball end to relieve any 'twist tension'...since the ball end is loose.

I am so confused about the twisting the ball end. Does it not go tight against the block? It must. If so, you can’t twist the last couple if the ball is hidden up in the block.

Lol there are like 3 separate threads of this on here now.. People don't scan the main threads first ? Also, that guitar is big time expensive for what you get. They priced this thing wrong.

It does but why would you even twist it anyway? The tuner is not twisting it at the other end when pulling on it. I feel like there is some detail that’s missing that would make it all make sense.
