EVH Wolfgang Special (MIJ) - still new, good price?

Have a music store near me that has a 2011 MIJ EVH Wolfgang Special that they'll sell me for $1199. I understand the Japanese ones are better than the current Chinese models, or am I wrong?

Is this a good deal? They're also going to dress the frets and set it up for free.

is it the hard tail or floyd model? They can be had through guitar center for 799 now if its the hardtail. If you look they do have the jap ones priced at that too

It has a Floyd. They're at GC for 799? Wow. Are the Jap ones supposed to be better or am I off on that?

I see used ones at GC for that price, but not new. I'm not sure I made it clear, the one I'm looking at is a new 2011 model. Weird to say in 2014, but ya, they never sold this one
