I just picked up a Wolfgang stealth and I'm not sure if the previous owner shimmed the neck or not. In the pic I see that the heal is raised and not parallel with the body

Can someone check theirs to see if it looks like what I have going on? I'm getting a slight harmonic buzz just enough to drive me nuts and I think that's the culprit

Thanks

Here is a picture of a stealth I just sent back. Don't think it was the way you've posted. And then a picture of a natural I was thinking of getting,,,,doesn't look like yours either.

Mine is just a Japanese HT special. I guess I'll pull the neck and see what's going on. It's surprisingly a very nice playing, sounding and feeling guitar. I just think it needs to be leveled up and re-setup

Both of those I pictured were China made specials.

The stealth was so nicely set up. The frets were dressed and the neck was really smooth and silky. I just couldn't get right with the vintage frets. Had a hard time sending it back.

Looks like some one tilted the neck to get lower action. I would remove the neck and check the cavity for pieces of wood or cardboard. I know I did this with an old strat many years ago :)

Don't remove the neck. Is it an archtop/standard? It's fine. My 1995 Peavey Wolfgang has the tilt. They did the neck that way to help
get lower action due to the non-recessed Floyd.

With recessed Floyds, you can lower them into the body; on the Wolfgang, you can't. I am not
sure that they have that feature on the cheaper ones (Specials).

Harmonic buzz (only when playing harmonics, I assume?) is possibly tied to a burr or groove in a trem saddle or the Floyd nut.
Try loosening (with the nut retainer unclamped) the string and move it around -- take the string out and and reinstall it if you need to -- and see if that fixes the problem.

I have had that happen on several guitars in the past and usually a string change fixes the issue.

Mine is a hardtail and a flat top. I'll check the saddles when I get home. It only does it on the high E and B strings. Other than that little buzzy harmonic it's plays great with nice low action. I just wasn't sure about the angle in the neck pocket.

I just got a Wolfgang Special Stealth and it looks exactly the same. What conclusion did you come to?

they are all like that, the neck pocket has that angle. The buzzing on these guitars is normal I guess, i fought my special (japan) on the low E and had to shim the floyd saddle , but my USA one is perfect.

Thank you for the reply. I was actually thinking of sending it back. I thought it was a defect.

I've got the same guitar as yhebop, and the neck is angled. No buzz on mine whatsoever though. Maybe I run my action higher as I down tune.

I'm pretty sure mine isn't like that..

It's a Japanese model with the Floyd Rose.

I'll check/verify tonight when I get off work but I sure don't remember it being like this....

OK after checking mine is like that!

funny I've never noticed it before...lol

Just got a Chinese made Special and I was worried that the neck was "off" somehow, glad to hear other people have the same set up and it seems "normal".
