This is my first post here in a while, guys. A forumite over at the Andy Sneap Forum who purchased a custom impulse wanted a tone that was a Hybrid between Testament's Formation of Damnation and Exodus's Exhibit B.

The details:

I played guitar; it's unedited. There are no special effects, processing, nada.

Dean Vendetta with Duncan Custom (my main axe)->Maxon OD-820 Pro->ISP Decimator->5150 III->Engl Pro Cabinet->SM57->SCA A12->RME Fireface 800 A/D

Nothing but a HP and LP:

I think you guys are going to dig it.

You nailed the modern Exodus tone. Its a cool sound, but I'd prefer more low-mid chunk and less nasal crunch. Great job though.

I really enjoyed that. It would have to be thicker for Testament tones, but that sounded killer. I love me some thrash.

Thanks :)

It could use a a bit more chunk, but there's no bass involved, and that may be the missing link.

nice, choke up on the strings abit more, (move your picking hand about 1/2" toward the neck pick-up), and I think you'll have it nailed. Gary chokes up like that I think that helps get that extra little bit of grind out of it. But DAMN!!! thats closer than I've ever got. nice work!!!

Hell yeah, always up for my boys getting their just praise. ;) Killer work though man, sounds AWESOME!!!!

Does Gary also use the Duncan Custom?

I think thats what he had in his Ricos, his new Schecters are EMG 81/89R

Here's a pic of the new one, with the custom EMGs....

Is the 89R in the bridge? That's what I have in the bridge of my Stinnett.

Ah, okay. I actually preferred the 89 in the bridge. It's got quite a bit more "juice."

My boy......................sounds great bro and killer playing :thumbsup:
