LITTLE WHORE
What are y’all liking for an external mic on your Android phone? Something simple but effective for recording guitar at a decent volume. Don’t want to deal with syncing traditional mic’d cab audio with video, for quick and dirty YT vids etc.

I got the iRig Pre HD for the same reasons. Use any mic you want with it. I use a SM57 for the last few clips I’ve done.

I've got one of these on the way. For Android you do have to buy an additional mini USB cable (assuming you don't already have one of course).

I like JBL mic beacause from past 1 year i am using bluethooth headphones they are easy accessible on my android mobile.

So, I got an iRig pre to try it out and actually ended up liking the sound I got just from using the phone by itself better. It just seemed to capture what the amp was doing in the room more accurately.

I did get the Irig pre HD but haven't been able to use it. My phone wouldn't recognize it which I assumed was my fault because I bought the wrong cable. A few cables later and plenty of time on the IKmultimedia forum and I'm pretty sure my Irig was DOA the whole time. My phone won't recognize it and it's not even getting a signal from my mic. The Irig app doesn't recognize it either and defaults to my phone's mic. The level indicator is stuck on blue, won't go to green or red.

So, opened a ticket with IKmultimedia 5 days ago and waiting to hear back.

For Android I like to use a paid app called Cinema FV-5, in the audio controls you can set the encoding, which mics to use (front/back/both), bit rate and sampling rate or just use automatic mode.

The main problem with my default samsung vid app was that it would suppress the audio automatically when something got loud and the bass would really suffer and sound tinny. Its called automatic gain control (AGC). So this app can disable AGC by checking the box and you can set the audio levels with its built in meters. Worth checking out.

Do you use an interface with your phone and real mics with this app or just the internal phone mics?

Nah, or atleast I havent tried it yet. I tried making vids with my phone (note 8) and the sound would just fluctuate and lose all bass and thickness right off the bat. After seeing your vids I started to research the issue cause my old phone didnt have that problem at all. I may try making cam vids and copy you, but I don't have a dungeon :D

Do they even have dungeons in your neck of the woods? :D

As for my vids, I'm still using the Zoom Q2HD. The Irig HD went back to Sweetwater today.
