Extreme - Saudades De Rock

I dig this album. But I'm an oddball...Waiting for the Punchline was previously my favorite Extreme album. This one picks up where that one left off, IMO. Heavy Queen influence too.

But Nuno...man, he is an 80s guy who has not lost a step, IMO. He's not quite as flash as he used to be, but I think it's a voluntary thing. His chops are still unbelievable and his style has remained intact. And Gary is in fine voice. Possibly his best since III Sides.

I really wanted to like it, but dont. I like the Dramagods album alot better even though the production is awful.

They kept Gary's voice too dry on this album IMO and he really sounds like hes screaming more than ever. I think they should have softened the vocals a bit because to me is sounds abrasive and grating.

Great playing from Nuno though, of course. One of my favorite players.

I dig it as well. for awhile , I was only interested in the 1st 2 albums but man , 3 sides and punchline really grew on me. This a great album and doesn't disappoint IMHO. I can't see big Extreme fans being disappointed over this release

I am a big fan of Nuno. I love his busy playing on Pornagraffitti. I have still have to pick up the new one. I totally forgot about it.
Does anybody know when the new Randall Nuno sig comes out?

I really like the new album a lot. There are a few times where Gary's voice get abbrasive, namely on the slow song (can't think of the name right now). The playing is stellar and there are some catchy grooves. Overall, III Sides is my favorite (barely) over Pornografiti.

If you like Extreme, this is worth picking up.

I dig it, but Punchline is still my favorite. I think that the new drummer is what give it the Zep feel. Which I'm not sure I totally dig yet. I miss the funk element that I think takes a back seat on the new album. It's good, but it's not one of those deics that I want to listen to over and over.

I didn't care for it....Tried, but after about 6 listens, It never hit me.

+1 I even preferred Cherones solo effort (with Eddie Van someone or other :D ) over Saudades....only really like one or two songs on it.
